Farfetch, the leading global technology platform for the luxury fashion industry, has just launched another edition of Pulg-In, the paid internship program, where selected candidates have the opportunity to work with company mentors.
“At Farfetch, they will learn and participate in the development of a technological platform, integrated in international teams, in areas critical to our business and where we work every day on disruptive and extremely valuable solutions, which are revolutionizing the fashion industry and the future of online commerce. All of this with the support of Farfetch mentors, who provide even more enriching learning moments ”, explains Cipriano Sousa, CTO at Farfetch.
The Plug-In has already received 142 interns in four editions and has a retention rate of over 90%. "The numbers prove the robustness of the program, which seeks the best technical skills, but also fits with the culture and way of working at Farfetch".
“We are looking for profiles within the areas of Technology, Product and Data [data], it is very important that candidates demonstrate curiosity to acquire new knowledge, ability to adapt to a dynamic context, assume ownership [the property] of their own development and who are able to work in a network in an informal context, although demanding ”, says Ana Sousa, VP People of Farfetch.
In times of pandemic, the reinforcement of talent remains. "We do not know what restrictions may be in place in five months, but we are prepared to do the onboarding [integration] of this group remotely, if necessary", underlines Ana Sousa, adding that the priority is on physical security and people's psychological well-being and in compliance with all the measures imported by the Government and health authorities. “Flexibility was already a reality at Farfetch before the pandemic, so we quickly adapt to this new reality”, he defends.
