Talkdesk, a Portuguese startup founded by Tiago Paiva and Cristina Fonseca, opened a new office in Oeiras. This is the fifth space in Portugal for the unicorn with Portuguese DNA (company valued at more than one billion dollars). In this “phase of marked growth”, the company also reveals that it is “looking for around 100 specialists” in the areas of cloud (cloud), SaaS (software as a service) and artificial intelligence to hire until the end of 2020.

If this sharp growth and the “current hiring needs” continue, Talkdesk says it may open yet another office in the Greater Lisbon area, with no specific date. The current vacancies can be consulted at company's official website.

It is in Portugal that our software is developed and we want to reinforce our commitment to national talent and to technology and innovation. By settling in Oeiras, a technological reference ecosystem on the outskirts of Lisbon, we are getting closer to our goal of reaching 1000 engineers by the end of this year ”, he adds.

The startup, which has offices in Portugal and its headquarters in San Francisco, USA, says in a statement that with this office it returns to the “cradle”. “It was in Oeiras that Talkdesk's history began, having been incubated in Taguspark, where it took its first steps as a startup”, recalls the company. This new space will be dedicated to the company's product development.

Talkdesk was founded in 2011, in Portugal, and is present in more than 75 countries. The startup was born with the promise of setting up a call center in just five minutes. In almost nine years, it has already accumulated around 1,800 customers such as IBM, Acxiom, Trivago or or Peloton. The company's technology is developed in Portugal and, in Coimbra and Aveiro, Talkdesk created TDX laboratories, dedicated to exploring emerging technologies, which create new features and accelerate their development.
